Team Lead
Alicia R. Riley
Alicia Riley is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Core Faculty in Global and Community Health at University of California, Santa Cruz. She studies the health effects of structural inequity, with a particular focus on their modifiability through policy and other types of social change. Professor Riley completed her postdoctoral training at UCSF, her PhD and MA in Sociology at University of Chicago, her MPH in Epidemiology/Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and her MA in Latin American Studies and BA in Human Biology at Stanford University. Prior to pursuing doctoral studies, she worked in community health in non-profit and government settings.

Eileen Amador (Building Belonging Fellow, 2022)
Hi, my name is Eileen Amador. I am a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies and Global Information and Social Enterprise Studies (GISES) Minor at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Some of my biggest career goals include helping others and contributing to my community. In the future, I plan to continue to bring light through my work to important subjects such as immigration policies, women’s rights, and racial discrimination, among others.

Hello my name is Robin Hernandez and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in both Politics and Sociology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Throughout my years as an undergraduate student I have grown passionate over the topics I have learned within my areas of study. I hope to use my attained knowledge to better help the communities that I was raised in.
